Coming Home is the final live recording of the Concord Baptist Church Young People’s Revival Choir, bringing to a close the series of live projects that documented the music and ministry of the Revival Choir through the years.
The project opens with the ever-popular Jesus Is Coming Soon and includes a wide range of powerful Southern Gospel selections. Among the highlights is Safe Thus Far, sung by choir director Dr. Clint W. Kerns, along with God Is Still Good, Made by Mercy, What a Day That Will Be, The Blood Will Never Lose Its Power, Thank God for Grace, and He Still Reigns.
Also included is A Love That Won’t Stop, one of the choir selections for which sheet music is available through Church Choir Music.
The project concludes with The Apple Tree Story, presented as a dramatization. Its inclusion provides a distinctive ending to the final live recording and preserves another aspect of the Revival Choir’s ministry beyond the music itself.
As the last of the choir’s live recordings, Coming Home represents the conclusion of an important chapter in the history of the Concord Baptist Church Young People’s Revival Choir, as many former members returned to take part in this special live recording, preserving the songs and ministry of the choir for another generation.
While founders Clint W. Kerns, ThD, and Sis. Donna K. Kerns have since moved on from Concord Baptist Church, the Concord Baptist Church Youth Choir continues its ministry today. The music, influence, and ministry that began during their years of leadership continue through a new generation, and the legacy of the Revival Choir lives on.
